Stop Fear By Readjusting Your Thoughts

By Claudia Apfelthaler

Hmm, stop fear by readjusting my thoughts…I hear you thinking. Yes you can because all fear is only a frame of mind. I know it comes across as though I’m callous and uncaring. I know about fear, real fear and the imagined fear. The fear of being a social failure, not having enough money, getting fat and fear of my kids getting tattooed or pierced.

I mean really…firstly I can control what my kids do now – they know they daren’t come home with any face piercing, I know this may seem awfully square to many and off the point because we are talking about how to stop fear here. But believe me that is one of those uncalled for fears. Firstly the law doesn’t permit them to get a piercing, well in my country anyway until they are 14 so I can put off my fear till next year.

Seriously though there is nothing I can do about it and if I analyse my fear am I fearing for their safety? No I’m sure any piercer worth his/her salt knows what they are doing and wouldn’t cause any damage. Besides I trust my children enough to know that they will have the wisdom to look for a decent piercer should it ever come to that. So what am I fearing?

On a closer look I’m fearing to come across socially as a bad parent because my children are pierced. Do you see where I’m getting at here? I could be messing up my own life by fearing what others do and think. This is a huge problem. Apparently many people have fears. Fear of being stuck in a lift – I’ll admit the idea isn’t particularly nice. I wouldn’t want to be stuck in a lift but if I think about a second time it will be highly unlikely that I’ll be stuck in a lift because generally the lifts are in good working order. If a lift does get stuck in a high building I suspect someone will sort out quite quickly especially if it’s in a busy building.

Or how about fear of flying? Now I fly quite a lot because I have friends and family all over the globe. I don’t really care much for flying and I did used to have a fear of flying. I would get nervous 2 weeks before I had to fly and then to expand on my fear, the TV and papers were full of a plane crash that had happened.

One of my other petty fears was arriving too late for my appointments. Trust me when I tell you I’ll be on time. I had a fear of being too late at the airport and train station. I drove my family nuts by insisting we leave for the airport in the morning when my plane only left in the evening. I’ve never missed a plain, train or appointment.

Fear can be a good thing, it’s our protection mechanism that stops us from doing crazy things like jumping out the window or crossing the road when the light is red. Fear makes you cautious but fear can also make your life a misery.

You can spend hours at the shrink talking about all your fears and having the good doctor ask you questions and give you lengthy analyses of what you’re fearing. Watching Monk is funny but being Monk must be awful.

There’s an easy way to stop fear feelings. You have to decide that you’re not prepared to live in a fear state anymore and be prepared to take the action that will help you release those feelings. I did it with subliminal CD’s, not quite subliminal – non of that listening to ocean waves and wondering if there were actual messages under the water sounds.

Releasing statements like, “I am free of images of past and future failure, tragedy and loss”.
And, “I’m free of all fear of ridicule, of judgement from others and of criticism.”

Then afterwards giving myself installing statements like, “I habitually visualise happy outcomes in all areas of my life.”

Listen to that enough times and you will stop fear in all areas of your life. Remember school? They made you repeat things over and over so it would stay inside you. Well it’s the same and once you’re instilled with the right beliefs you’ll just find all your old fears dissolving away. The beauty is you can do it without spending your hard earned cash at the doctor. You just got to recognise that you have fears and want to get rid of them, especially if you know it’s stopping you from living in all your glory.

Claudia Apfelthaler admits she was in the pits before she got into the bowl of cherries. How did she do it? By being teachable! She changed her fear thoughts into positive thoughts by using Think Right Now! programmes.

For The Fearful Flyer Spread Your Wings In Plane Comfort

By Dr. Melanie Bryan

Many people fly easily for years before developing an aversion to flight, or outright fear of flying. Actually it’s a wonder more people don’t become fearful flyers sooner, given all those doomsday messages upon arrival at the airport:

You check in at your Terminal; go through Passport Control; carry on to your Departure Gate; listen for your Last and Final Call before Take-off to your Final Destination.

And once the fear settles in, even the thought of getting on a plane can be terrifying. For more and more people, preparing for a flight or boarding an aircraft is coupled with a range of mild to intense fear reactions. Indeed a 2000 study found one in three air travelers experience some kind of fearful response to the air travel process. The message is clear: you are not alone.

Many fearful flyers can vividly recall the prolonged turbulence often associated with their first attack of panic, with its rush of physical symptoms, confusion and an intense desire to flee. This fear or panic attack is often so unexpected and misunderstood that some people become terrified that they are having a heart attack or going crazy. They can develop a great deal of anxiety and shame about feeling so out of control of their emotions and thoughts.

Panic is named after the Greek god Pan, who was portrayed as half-goat, half-man, and had an annoying habit of hiding in the bushes and leaping out with a bloodcurdling scream at unsuspecting folks out on a country stroll, scaring them half out of their wits. This is akin to the experience of having a panic attack, which involves a sudden release of adrenaline into the body that creates the physical symptoms of rapid heartbeat, shortness of breath and muscular tension, wrapped up in a feeling complex of intense fear, confusion and an incredibly strong desire to scream or escape. Some flyers fear impending death.

Since this kind of experience, especially coming ‘out of the blue’ can be so traumatic, its memory can be easily recalled. For some people, simply considering a flight can produce anxious, fearful thoughts. And the more time spent anticipating the flight and each worst case scenario in precise detail, the more apprehensive you may become. This is known as anticipatory anxiety and can actually trigger further fear attacks.

“I know flying is safer than driving, but……..”. Anxiety does not respond well to thought and logic because fear doesn’t stem from the brain alone. Fear really is complicated. It can develop instantly or gradually, in the face of both real and assumed threats to your safety. Such threats ignite an automatic mechanism in the nervous system to protect us from potential harm. Called the flight or flight response, this inbuilt alarm switch in the brain mobilizes us for emergencies by firing off massive amounts of adrenaline to the heart, lungs and muscles, helping us to respond quickly. If a bear sneaks up behind you and taps you on the shoulder, you’ll be very glad you have this ability; but if the alarm goes off, seemingly out of the blue, when you are simply booking a flight, or packing, you can form some pretty frightening and false ideas about what is happening to you.

People who fear flying tend to be highly intelligent and extremely imaginative. They can easily conjure up escalating images of disaster and a never-ending flight from hell at the very thought of their departure date. Their bodies react to these dreaded images by getting ready for immediate, defensive action, setting off their alarm system replete with pounding heart, sweaty palms and that weak in the knees feeling.

Actually, your over-imaginative mind is the real problem. By creating escalating images of disaster, your mind simultaneously sends your body the message “The danger is NOW, protect me!” And it does, by gearing you up for fight or flight action. These are normal, healthy, lifesaving changes in your body’s physiology.

When there is an actual emergency, we hardly notice these changes, because we’re too busy attending to the emergency at hand. But as there is no true danger, this protective response has been set off inappropriately by your unconscious mind.

A dramatic “OOPS”. Rather than fear your fear reactions, you can work to dilute them.

Here are some suggestions for Plane Comfort to help you break the automatic connection between fearful thoughts about flying and symptoms of physical fear in response to those thoughts:

*Recognize your tendency to believe that those harmless body symptoms are signs of imminent danger. They are not.
*Adopt an attitude of benevolent acceptance of fear-related symptoms and beliefs. This goes a long way towards calming both mind and body.
*Accept what your body is doing and flow with its rising and falling state of arousal.
What you resist persists.
*Allow time to pass. The adrenaline causing your fear will metabolize and be reabsorbed into your body in about 5-10 minutes. Fear attacks are time limited. Like a wave, it will peak and begin to subside in only a few minutes.
*Get out of your head and into your body. Concentrate on breathing slowly and evenly, exhaling longer than you breath in. Relaxation only occurs on the exhalation.
*Write down alternative explanations and coping statements for symptoms of fear.
*Learn to calm your body through deep breathing and self-hypnosis.

With these steps you may be able to shift your attention to common concerns about travel delays, lost luggage, and the one universal travelers dread: fear of economy.

Conquering My Fear of Flying

By Heather Peters

I admit it, I am afraid to fly. And I’m not alone, as many as 1 in 6 adults has at least some fears about flying. For me it’s definitely not a rational fear. In fact all my analytical and logical skills fly right out the window whenever I think about getting on a commercial plane. The most amazing part is that I grew up flying. My father owns a small plane and we would go flying every weekend.

In my preteen years I had an aborted takeoff during a commercial flight and while it didn’t scare me at all during the event, when I later found out that it had made the local news I began to see that this was perhaps a bigger deal (it really wasn’t but I was a preteen after all). I also began to recognize my own mortality and realized that I am a control freak and don’t enjoy the thought of putting my life in the hands of pilots I don’t know.

However, I’m gradually working my way out of my fears and back into a state of mind that is not afraid. It’s taking me a lot of time, but I make progress everyday.

My first technique is to get a large inside picture of a commercial plane (preferably one that I’ll be flying in soon) and make it the background image of my computer desktop. This way, every time I get on my computer I’m looking toward the front of an airplane as if I am a passenger. Initially this worked so well my pulse would race and my breathing rate went up. I’ve now conditioned myself to seeing that image so it no longer bothers me.

I also like to watch internet videos of planes taking off and landing. My favorite videos are those that are taken from inside the plane, looking out the window at the wing; hearing the roar of the engines and seeing the ground fall away beneath the plane as it rises upon takeoff. Sitting in my recliner with headphones on and watching those videos enables me to participate in a takeoff without actually being on the plane. I can condition myself to the sights and sounds I would normally experience.

I’ve found several helpful online courses designed to give information to fearful flyers. I use them a lot as I get closer to departure, and I’ve bought every book I can find about conquering one’s fear of flying. I take them with me, I read them often.

I don’t watch news clips or specials about airplane crashes. The media sensationalizes airplane crashes simply because they happen so rarely. That also means they repeat that horrific story over and over, scaring the wits out of unsuspecting people.

There are dozens of helpful statistics about the safety of air travel; The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) says your chances of being in a fatal plane crash are anywhere from 1 in 400,000 to 1 in 10 million depending on the airline you’re flying. To someone who has a genuine fear of flying those numbers don’t mean anything when you’re locked in a steel tube with no way of setting foot on the ground until AFTER you’ve gone through takeoff, landing and turbulence.

I recognize that I need help and am trying to look at air travel from a logical perspective again. Each trip I hope to get a little better. If you are suffering from a similar fear, I encourage you to go through the various online resources available and seek additional professional help if your fears are strong enough and you are unable to get through them on your own. It’s ok. We can get through this and learn to enjoy (or at least tolerate) this means of travel in order to take that awesome vacation, see family or fulfill the requirements of a great job.

Heather Peters is a recovering fearful flyer who runs Fear of Flying Tips in order to help others overcome their fear of flying. The site is a commentary and directory of the resources available to fearful flyers.

Freedom From Fear

By Steve Tallamy

Fear, phobia, dread, panic, call it what you will, everyone of us has known what it is like to have been afraid of a situation we have found ourselves having to confront at one time or another.

It may be a fear of flying, heights, public speaking or a myriad of other things that can ruin our lives, and that of our family and friends as well.

But what is it that makes us have these feelings? Why are we scared of some scenarios but not others? Why is not everyone afraid of the same things? Well obviously not everyone is the same, we all think and behave differently therefore deal with situations differently as well.

So having said that how can we overcome our fears, the key word is think, because believe it or believe it not we all have the ability to control what we think. We can turn negative thoughts into positive ones, making us feel more confident and able to deal with life and all it can throw at us.

Take the fear of flying for instance. It probably is not the thought of actually flying that scares us, it is more likely to be something that is associated with flying that causes the problem. Crashing and not flying is the obvious example but it can be something much less scary that sends us into panic mode.

In you own mind picture yourself going on a trip involving flying (or any other scenario that upsets you) and you will break the experience down into segments and discover which part of the experience it is that really causes the problem.

Maybe it is arriving late and missing the flight, crowded airports, having to deal with strangers, the claustrophobic feeling of the plane or even a dislike of where you are flying to or going to meet or do when you arrive.

Once you have done this you will find that you have just one or maybe two small phobias compared with the huge one you had when you started and you can now begin to do something about them. You will probably feel more confident about the situation already.

The big bonus is that you do not have to do this by yourself; there is help out there to guide you through it. Remember you did not have these fears when you were born, we have all seen how fearless young children are, all you need is to retrain your brain and rid yourselves of these irrational thoughts.

Strangely enough just after writing this article I was watching a popular TV program about airports and it showed a clip which endorsed much of what I had just written. It showed an elderly gentleman boarding a flight to take him away on holiday following the recent death of his wife.

Once onboard he felt sick, dizzy and claustrophobic and being confused he decided to get off of the plane a report how he felt to the girls who had looked after him back at the booking in desk. Other passengers seeing him get off started to panic thinking he may have left a bomb behind and the pilot had no choice but to evacuate the plane and have it security searched before taking off.

The truth was discovered when the gentleman reached the check in desk but it was too late to prevent the flight being delayed. Prior to his wifes death they had regularly flown together quite happily but this was the first flight the man had taken alone since his wife had passed away. The memory of his wife and their travels together reinforced his feelings of grief and loneliness, which together triggered off the panic attack. He was unable to resume his flight and had to postpone his holiday until he had received treatment for his symptoms.

So what is stopping you from taking that next step and trying hypnosis to change whatever it may be that you want to change to improve your life.

Steve Tallamy uses his web site http://www.self-developer.com and his ezine Hypnosis Can Change Your Mind to help others from all walks of life, through his own experiences to demonstrate that success via self improvement and hypnosis in particular is possible for anyone to achieve.

Meditation - Meditation for the Fear of Flight

By Radhakrishnan K Gurudas

Meditation is an effective way of relaxing the body and reducing stress, leading to a mind that is worry free. The popularity of meditation and its practice have helped a lot of people deal with their inner most fears and anxieties and have helped them cope up with a lot of unresolved conflicts.

Fear of flying is a common problem faced by people the world over. People who fear flying become paranoid during a flight and end up having uncomfortable feelings, elevated anxieties, panic attacks, and even sleepless nights before the flight. Because meditation is an effective mind control exercise at a sub-conscious level, a lot of people turn to it to resolve their fears.

Meditation for flight is a form of meditation that helps a person overcome the fear of flying. This form of meditation makes use of tapes and CD’s that one can listen to while flying or before flying. These tapes are readily available in stores; in fact all the major commercial airlines offer these tapes and CD’s during a flight to passengers on request.

One of the CD’s used for meditation is called Fly Without Fear: Guided Meditations for a Relaxing Flight .This is a powerful audio CD created by stress expert KRS Edstrom; it provides a unique and highly effective program to free a person from the fear of flying. Powerful guided meditations and soothing music help dissolve your fear all the while imparting skills that can be applied to any fear. It transforms an anxious flight into a tranquil journey of self-discovery which includes calming meditation exercises for boarding, take-off, in-flight and landing along with a pre-flight dress rehearsal exercise. Accompanied by soothing music, Edstrom’s guided meditations empower you to release the anxiety associated with flying and more. You can learn more about this CD at shop.com.

Price: $11.86

An airline which has introduced meditation for flight programme into their flights is Virgin Atlantic Airline. To help a person relax during the flight to London, Virgin Atlantic now offers an in-flight meditation program, called Meditainment. The meditation for flight program, designed by Meditainment Ltd, consists of a series of meditative journeys through the audio in-flight entertainment system. Meditative journey choices include journeys to a Desert Island, Summer Meadow, the Moon or the Arctic. If you have a fear of flying, the airline offers an audio session with Flying Without Fear’s psychoanalyst David Landau.

The path to resolving any fear lies in first acknowledging the fear, finding the underlying cause behind it and then facing that fear head on. Meditation can be highly effective in helping resolve our fears as it enables the mind to overcome a fear by understanding it first and then facing it.

Fear of Flying - Part 2

By Nick Cox

The increase in the number of cheap flights offered by budget airlines has meant that more and more people are able to take to the skies. But with as many as one in five people suffering from a fear of flying means there will be many reluctant passengers onboard. So what can be done to ease the suffering?

Here are some things you can do to ease the pain of flying.

• Turbulence is felt more severely at the back of the plane, so ask if you can be seated as near to the cabin as possible. If you do experience turbulence try to stay calm and to go with the flow of the aircrafts movements.

• Do as much as you can to keep yourself occupied. Aircraft used for long-haul flights are normally equipped with all the latest entertainment, so make the most of it and watch whatever movies they have on offer.

• Avoid drinking too much coffee or other caffeine products as an overly-hyped state of mind can exacerbate anxiety. Dehydration can also contribute to feelings of fear, so drink plenty of fluids and avoid drinking too much alcohol. You are far more susceptible to dehydration during a long flight, as humidity can drop to very low levels. In fact, in-flight air is drier than any of the world’s deserts. Sahara and Arabian deserts have a relative humidity of around 20% to 25%, while in-flight cabin humidity levels can drop as low as 1% during a long haul flight.

• Don’t be afraid to let the flight attendants know that you are a fearful flier. They will be able to offer you helpful reassurance during the flight.

• Breathe deeply. There are different breathing techniques that you can learn that can help reduce tension and stress.

• Listen to calming music. This also stops you from becoming distracted by noises that the airplane is making. It’s easy to interpret perfectly normal aircraft noises as sounds of impending doom! Turn up the music and relax.

Being afraid of flying is a rational fear as you are placing yourself in a situation where there is a small element of risk. The key is to control this fear and to not let the fear control you. If you find yourself in a position where fear is stopping you from doing something that you want to do, then this is the time to take action.

Find and compare flights including cheap flights to long haul destinations.

Leave Your Fear Of Flying Behind And Go On Holiday

By Rich MacKenzie

The fear of flying is a phobia that can have a significant impact on a person’s life. Fear of flying can cause a person to have great apprehension in regards to boarding an airplane. Even though that person might know that the airplane is one of the safest modes of travel known to man, they still can’t get past preconceived notions about flying. Flying is a strange idea for people. Men weren’t meant to leave the ground, so it is natural to have some fear of flying. When that fear causes you to completely avoid airplanes, there is a problem.

In today’s business world, the earth is shrinking. Businesses tell people to hop on an airplane very at the drop of a hat and fly across the globe to close a business deal. If you don’t have the willingness or ability to get on that plane, then you will miss out on opportunities. If you have the business sense to get a good job, then why would you waste that ability because you don’t want to fly? You have probably been told that flying is a safe way to travel. Still, you can’t get over those subconscious thoughts that are constantly telling you that you can’t fly.

There is a way to get past the fear of flying. Hypnosis is that remedy that will help you attack the negative thoughts in your subconscious and get on the right track. If your subconscious tells your mind that flying is alright, then you won’t have any problem boarding a plane. Like with many other phobias, it is all a mental block. Hypnosis is a great way to fight against that mental block and open up your mind to a new way of thinking.

Hypnosis is something that you might have seen in Las Vegas on a magic show. It’s something you might have seen in the movies. Those features don’t do hypnosis justice, though. Hypnosis is actually a tool for fixing real life problems. It’s something that gets inside the mind to change thinking. While I’ve been a hypnotherapist, I have seen people use hypnosis to get over a bunch of different ailments.

If you need to get on a plane for some important business deal or to visit a family member, then get some information about hypnosis. It could be the treatment that cures your problem and gives you the chance to move ahead in business.

Fear of Flying - Symptoms, Medical Issues, and Treatment

By Mark Goodworthy

Flying is the fastest and safest way to travel. According to statistics, there are more car-related fatalities than airplane-related ones. But this fact does not keep some people from experiencing a fear of flying.

People who suffer from this fear of flying usually experience a feeling of dread everytime they get on an airplane. To make matters worse, the confined spaces and the height would certainly trigger some level of panic. People who fear flying usually show signs of visible stress like heart palpitations, dizziness, shaking and sweating profusely. In worse cases, a full-blown anxiety panic can make a person feel and act hysterical.

Overcoming this irrational fear of flying is rather challenging. You can first try to learn about flying as much as possible. For starters, the airplanes today are built with safety features that would be triggered in cases of faulty mechanisms. The pilots are also well-trained to handle emergencies and could always be relied upon to make the right decisions during unexpected situations.

There are also government agencies that have created standard emergency and safety procedures as well as guidelines to endure passenger safety before, during and after every flight.

Relaxation techniques before your flight would also help. You should try taking deep breaths to slow your heart rate as well as relax your muscles. Stretching will also help in relieving tension. Listening to music or watching an in-flight movie could also help distract you from the activities inside the airplane.

If all this information has not yet helped you, then your fear of flying might be slightly more serious. You should consider alternative therapies to help you overcome your fear. Therapists would uncover the cause of your fear and help you confront it. It should take some time before you could actually see some improvements especially if your fear is very intense. The important thing to remember is that there is a way to overcome this limitation and make it enjoyable…

Another treatment you can consider is hypnotherapy. This technique might be relatively new but its effectiveness has been proven, especially in anxiety-related problems. The hypnotherapist would perform a hypnotic induction to access your subconscious and alter your behavior effectively.

It is believed that the subconscious is more receptive to changes and your fear of flying can sometimes be managed with a single session. You will be surprised how quick hypnotherapy can provide you with observable results. More importantly, it is more affordable in the long term.

Cure Your Fear Of Flying With Hypnosis

By Rich MacKenzie

Fear of flying is a phobia that keeps people from getting onto airplanes and heading where they need to be. It is something that can afflict a person for many years and usually there is no rhyme or reason to why it impacts a certain person. It is simply a mental block that keeps people from rationally thinking about flying in an airplane. This can be a particularly devastating problem for people who are in business, as flying across the world has become a very important part of the business landscape. Maybe you need to head across the ocean to close a business deal. Maybe you must travel a long distance to see a sick family member. Whatever the case may be, it is always nice to have the option of flying.

Fear of flying is a common thing. In fact, many people suffer from anxiety when it comes to flying in an airplane. The problem occurs when that bit of anxiety turns into a lot of anxiety and you can no longer function while flying in an airplane. At that point, fear can occur when a person goes to get on a plane or it might even cause them to stay home. This is something that can be fixed, but it takes some mental conditioning. It takes a change in thinking in order to achieve the goal of chasing away the fear of flying.

Like with most mental problems, it is easy to get rid of the problem if you can change your thinking. A complete change in mindset about flying and airplanes is something that can be achieved through hypnosis. As a practicing hypnotherapist, I have seen my share of people overcome different mentally based problems. Things like smoking, alcoholism, and gambling addiction can be cured with hypnosis and so can a fear of flying.

Many people think that hypnotherapy is simply something you see out on a stage in Las Vegas. This is short changing the process a whole lot. Though it might seem like magic, hypnosis is actually a mental treatment that enables people to calm down and let good thoughts replace those ill thoughts. You would be surprised with the number of things that hypnosis can cure. If you are struggling with fear of flying and you see no other solution to cure this fear, then consider hypnosis. Get all of the information that you can find and make a decision about whether hypnosis is right for you.

Medications And Flying

By Bobi MacKenzie

Medicine and fear of flying-medicine as a solution to a true flying phobia is a treatment made by personal decision or by a doctors recommendation per person. There are a few prescription only medications or there are a few types of natural alternatives or medications available over the counter at the Pharmacy. What kind of medicine you will want to take will depend on what type of fear you actually have that causes you to be afraid to fly on a plane.

If your specific problem is motion sickness then you have the option of going to a store and buying motion sickness pills over the counter. These may be a good way to go because they are used temporarily and you can get them without having to go to the doctor and getting a prescription.

Some medications have to be given to you by a doctor. There are different types of medications prescribed by a doctor such as:

1. Psychoactive- may be given for anxiety caused by a phobia.

2. Benzodiazepines- relaxant/depressant drug.

With the psychoactive drug you can feel relaxed and not have as much anxiety while you are on the plane. It doesn’t make you able to fly on a plane it only helps you be able to deal with the issues related to flying so you can be confidant enough to fly. This medication is prescribed so you will have to go to the doctor and be diagnosed to be able to get it. Your doctor will have to treat your specific fear and recommend treatment.

It may be good treatment if you fly a lot. Plus it does not cure the problem it only allows you to be able to function with having the problem. The medication benzodiazepine is also only given by a doctor. So you will have to be diagnosed before you can get this medication as a form of treatment. This medication only relaxes you so it doesn’t seem to be as bad as it would without medications. It also suppresses your senses which can be a bad thing as you may act or talk in a way you wouldn’t on a normal basis and that could cause you embarrassment after you are no longer under the affects of this drug. It may work well but it is also a drug you may have to take long term which will also mean being under the care of a doctor for a extended period of time. You also you may not be in complete control of your senses while taking this medication.

A very common so called treatment or relaxant for fear of flying is alcohol. It is good because it is available right on most planes and you don’t need a prescription. But it is bad because it has a greater affect in lower oxygen levels. People can get intoxicated very easily. Plus it can also become a problem like alcoholism in some people. Some people do turn to alcohol as a way to reduce anxiety and may be able to use it if they can control the level of the affects, but is not the best solution to the general problem of a flying phobia.
